This is a collection of 10 Franklin half dollars, all minted in 1963 at the Denver Mint, designated by the “D” mintmark. These 90% silver coins represent the last year of the Franklin Half Dollar series before its replacement by the Kennedy Half Dollar in 1964. Each coin features the portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell design on the reverse. As the closing year of the series, the 1963 D issue holds significance in U.S. coinage history.
